I never thought I'd be so lucky to have many wonderful places around me. Perth, WA, not only has an Indian Ocean and a perfect coastline, but also quite a few picturesque lakes that lie entirely inside the city's borders or just nearby.

The first lake I went around with David was Lake Monger (now Galup), and I fell in love with the idea. Wildlife in the city. Protected wildlife. And properly looked after. Amazing.
The first lake I fell in love with in Perth was Lake Monger (now Galup).
I loved how accessible it is to get to, the path around it, and the irresistible views. You can see so many birds living in and around this lake. I really enjoy every time I am able to go there.

Herdsman Lake
This lake is much bigger, so if you want to take a walk around it, you need to prepare yourself.
When I first went there with David, I was so amazed, I didn't realize that we were walking for over three hours! It was so worth it, though. You can still see the city from the other side of the lake, or you can lose yourself completely in the bushes. There is so much to see, I will have a separate post for this lake. I absolutely loved it!

Lake Leschenaultia
And there is—maybe a little bit further from the city—Lake Leschenaultia.
What a beautiful place! We only went there for a day, to have a picnic and a bit of a play in the water. We went for a little walk—not around the whole lake, but just a part of it. I loved it and would return at every possible occasion. Very pleasing surroundings, inviting us back again.

There are many more lakes, ponds, and billabongs in and around the city of Perth.
I will try my best to show as much of their beauty as possible.
Of course, nothing will capture their true picture better than your own eye.
